Sale of Alcohol is a self-contained reference to New Zealand law on the sale and supply of alcohol.
The product combines all relevant legislation with case law developments and commentary and analysis. The team of authors has updated and maintained Sale of Alcohol since it was first published in 1989 (then named Sale of Liquor), and this brings a real depth of experience to the work. It is the only specialist examination of New Zealand sale and supply of alcohol law.
Sale of Liquor contains an introduction which outlines the history of sale of alcohol law in New Zealand, and the Parts and provisions of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and the Sale of Liquor Act 1989 are included, and provisions in both Acts are accompanied by a critical analysis. Each section has full commentary, a plain English synopsis, and cross references highlighting other related sections of the legislation.
The service is an important resource for anyone who is required to deliver professional advice or to research New Zealand’s alcohol laws. A set of 20 Checklists provide a useful guide through important procedures and actions, with full explanatory notes and links to the appropriate legislative provisions. Much of the practical application of New Zealand’s alcohol law comes from Liquor Licensing Authority (now renamed Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority) decisions. Sale of Alcohol contains detailed references to appropriate decisions, eliminating time-consuming searches through the many hundreds of decisions made since 1992.
The full text of the Authority’s annual reports to Parliament from 1991 onwards is also included.
