Mark Hucklesby is Grant Thornton New Zealand’s financial reporting expert.
Mark has spent the last 20 years working full-time on either creating, interpreting or commenting on internationally recognised standards in five business reporting domains: IFRS, IPSAS, XBRL, integrated reporting and auditing.
He has worked with many different types of New Zealand reporting entities, operating in all sectors of the economy, to help them efficiently and effectively resolve complex business reporting issues in areas such as revenue recognition, business combinations, asset impairment, financial instruments and tax. To support the many publications and articles he has either authored or reviewed, Mark has presented on almost every aspect of financial reporting in New Zealand to a wide range of audiences, both locally and overseas.
Mark has an excellent understanding of New Zealand’s financial reporting requirements and the needs of users. For two years he was the Deputy Chair of the Financial Reporting Standards Board of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA). He is currently the Chief Judge of NZICA’s Annual Report Awards that cover New Zealand corporates, public sector entities and not-for-profit entities and also sustainability reporting across all sectors of the economy.
Brayden Smith joined Grant Thornton New Zealand as an Associate Director in 2013.
During his 19 year career, spent entirely in chartered accounting firms, Brayden has worked with a large cross section of clients across an extensive range of industries, including both public and private companies. Brayden has extensive experience within the following sectors of the economy: manufacturing, retail, oil & gas, not-for-profit organisations (including health / education / Iwi / arts), transport and logistics, banking and finance.
Brayden is pragmatic and approachable and enjoys working with clients to help them achieve their goals. He has a detailed understanding of New Zealand equivalents to International Financial Reporting Standards (NZ IFRS) and an extensive understanding of best practice controls and processes. His broad range of experience ensures that when giving advice, it is appropriately scaled to the size and nature of the organisation.
Rosaline Chan is currently an audit manager with Grant Thornton's Auckland office.
Rosaline has been involved in the audits of a wide variety of clients that operate in the telecommunications, biotechnology, manufacturing, finance and investment management sectors of the economy. She also has considerable experience in auditing not-for-profit organisations such as schools, colleges, churches, health and social services providers and charitable trusts.
Rosaline prides herself on delivering excellent service to her clients by working on-site during the audits she manages so that she is available to discuss in person any technical matters that may arise with senior management in an open and friendly manner.
